I.              Contest Rules and Mechanics

1.              The 75^th Araw ng Dabaw DAVAO IN A MINUTE VIDEO COMPETITION is open to all interested individuals or groups. Only one entry is allowed per registrant.

2.              The video entry must strictly be within the maximum time frame of 60 seconds (one minute) plus no more than ten seconds for credits.

3.              Videos must adhere to the theme of the Davao tourism campaign: “Davao: Life is here!”. Videos may show the various facets of life in Davao City (people, events, places, iconic characters of your community i.e. durian, Philippine Eagle, various landmarks) and shall show why life is here in Davao.

4.              Video entries may be in the form of short films, music videos, animation, video clips, commercials, documentary etc. Limitation of the concept rests on the creativity of the maker.

5.              Video entries should either be in 720×480, 1280×720 or 1920×1080 resolution.

6.              Submitted entries must include waivers or written consent from talents or for the use of copyrighted images, video clips, music. Without these, the entry may be disqualified.

7.              All entries must have a corresponding registration form filled up by the participant with the following info: VIDEO AUTHOR, (home and email) ADDRESS, CONTACT NUMBERS, ENTRY TITLE & BRIEF DESCRIPTION. Entries with incomplete information will not be accepted. Registration forms can be obtained at the following offices; Duaw Davao Office, MFTDFI Office, and  can be downloaded at  http://www.davaotourism.com/events-davaoinaminute/

8.              Entries should be submitted on or before March 9, 2012 3:00PM at the Duaw Davao Festivals Foundation Office at Room 12, 2^nd Floor City Hall Bldg; The Mindanao Film and Television Development Foundation Office 59-A Aala Bldg, F. Inigo St. (Anda) Davao City or through email at davaoinaminute@live.com

9.              The decision of the Board of judges is deemed final.

10.           All entries shall become the property of the Duaw Davao Festivals Foundation, Inc.

 

I.               The criteria for judging are as follows:

 

Relevance to the theme 30%

Conceptual creativity 30%

Visual/Narrative appeal 20%

Technical proficiency 20%

TOTAL 100%

 

The top entries will be reproduced and will be showcased at SM City Davao, Abreeza, Gaisano Mall and NCCC Mall.

 

Announcement and awarding of winners will be held on March 13 during the Mayor & Vice Mayor’s Appreciation Program at the Davao Convention and Trade Center.

 

II.            Winners will receive the following:

 

1^st Prize 30,000 plus a trophy

2^nd Prize 20,000 plus a trophy

3^rd Prize 10,000 plus a trophy

Consolation prize (5) 5,000 each

 

An additional cash prize of 5,000 will be awarded to the entry that will win the online voting as People’s Choice award. Online voting for entries commences upon submission of the video.  Website links to be advised.

 

Competition committee and Duaw Davao Festivals Foundation employees are disqualified from joining the said competition.

 

The Duaw Davao Festivals Foundation, The Mindanao Film and TV Development Foundation Inc.,  & the City Government of Davao or any of the institutions/agencies involved in the implementation of the Davao in a Minute Video Competition shall not held liable for
 any damage to the work as a result of the competition and exhibition, or the failure of the participant to follow the above rules and regulations.
